John 19-21 (Sunday June 9th)

Today we mark a milestone in our summer New Testament reading challenge; completion of our first book, the Book of John! Lots of important accounts here, including Jesus' crucifixion, resurrection and more miracles. Here are some verses that stood out to me and some questions on:

John 19:6 - Was Pilate afraid to crucify Jesus? Why?
John 19:21 - The chief priests complain to Pilate about Jesus being titled the King of the Jews on a sign placed upon the cross.
John 19:38 - Who was Joseph of Arimathea?

John 20:17 - Why does Jesus tell Mary not to touch him?
John 20: 19-23 - The Great Commission
John 20:24-29 - Did Thomas actually touch Jesus' crucifixion wounds?

John 21:1-14 - Miracle of catching fish. What is the significance/symbolism of this miracle?
John 21:18 - Prophecy of Peter's crucifixion
John 21:20 - Identifies John as the disciple whom Jesus loved.

I'm enjoying this journey we are taking together. It's important to ask yourself questions when reading The Bible. Asking questions will cause you to seek answers! God bless you all.
