I hope that so far summer is going well. I'm glad that we are doing this it's fun brain exercise for the summer. By the way this is Kaylene. Just so you know we love our Swags and High School. We need a name for the High School group hmm think of one so we can throw around ideas. So here we go on with the book of John.
John 10, we learn that we are the sheep of Jesus he knows our name and we follow after him we run from those who do not know us. As you read there is the "cool group" (Pharisees and Jewish Leaders) they always have their two cents to put in. Why? And do you know of anyone like this? Who always have something to say. But it hurts others and makes no sense. Do you follow Jesus?
John 11, this is where Jesus show's that he has power over death. His friend is very sick and he waits to go and see him. Why? This family was very close to Jesus he loved them very much. Even though the "cool group" wanted to stone him, Jesus went anyway. And did you know that this is where the shortest verse in the Bible is (Jesus wept) this shows the raw emotion of Jesus. He raised his friend from the dead. WOW. He knows our every hurt, secret, dreams, and so much more. He wants to be your friend.
John 12, In this part of the Bible things are heating up. Jesus is invited back to Lazarus's house for a party in honor of Jesus. Mary and Martha are sisters of Lazarus. Mary pours a very expensive oil on Jesus feet. One of Jesus's disciples get's mad and greedy who was that and why? Also we will read about the first Palm Sunday. Greeks wanting to see Jesus and Belief and Unbelief among the Jews. And lastly Jesus predicts his own death. A lot to take in. Have a blessed day. And don't forget about Monday night at the Fowler's.
